Gaza: the smell of death was everywhere by silviaboa July 21, 2014 From Gaza on the day the eastern neighborhood of Shuyaja was reduced to rubble. Inhabitants talked of heavy shelling throughout the night, blasted windows, neighbours homes bomebed. As soon as 7am many families began making their way out of their homes with only their clothes on their back and nowhere safe to go. Deserted street in Shujayeyah. By 8:20 am thousands of families had already evacuated their homes due to heavy shelling. Israeli army intensified its attack on Gaza since the beginning of the grounfd phase of the operation Protective Edge.
